Weld inspection — visual to volumetric.
Certified visual and NDT weld inspection to AWS D1.1, ASME IX and API 1104 — from fit-up and root through to MT/PT surface and UT/RT volumetric examination.
Independent weld inspection in Oman.
Welds carry the load and the pressure. GCS provides CSWIP/CWI visual inspection plus the full NDT toolkit, witnessing fit-up and root, gauging weld profiles, and applying surface and volumetric methods to confirm welds meet the code.

Questions our clients ask most often.
Which weld inspection method should I use?
Visual and surface NDT (MT/PT) confirm surface quality; volumetric NDT (UT/RT) confirms internal soundness. The governing code and joint criticality dictate the combination — we advise the right method mix for each weld.
Do you review welding procedures and welder qualifications?
Yes. We review WPS/PQR and WPQ records to confirm the procedure is qualified and the welder is approved for the joint before and during inspection.
Are your weld inspectors certified?
Our welding inspectors hold CSWIP 3.1 / AWS CWI certification, and NDT technicians are certified to ISO 9712 at the appropriate level.
How quickly can GCS mobilise weld inspection in Oman?
For routine work in Muscat, Sohar or Duqm, mobilisation is typically within 2 working days. Emergency and post-incident jobs can be mobilised same-day, with reports issued within 5 working days.
