Service overview

Independent web sling inspection in Oman.

Soft slings degrade from abrasion, cuts, UV and chemical attack — often invisibly inside round slings. GCS inspects every metre of webbing, verifies the label and WLL, and applies the period colour code so out-of-date slings are removed from service.

Frequently asked

Questions our clients ask most often.

When must a web sling be withdrawn from service?+

Immediately if the label is missing or illegible, or if there are cuts, holes, abrasion exposing the core, chemical attack, heat damage, or damaged stitching. We sentence against EN 1492 and LEEA criteria and tag rejected slings.

Is GCS a LEEA member?+

Yes. GCS is a Full Member of the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA), the global body governing lifting equipment competence — the de-facto standard for credible lifting inspections in Oman.

What does the colour code mean?+

Many Oman sites operate a quarterly colour-code system: each three-month period has a colour, so a quick glance confirms whether gear is in date. GCS applies the current colour to every passed sling.

How quickly can GCS mobilise a web sling inspection in Oman?+

For routine work in Muscat, Sohar or Duqm, mobilisation is typically within 2 working days. Emergency and post-incident jobs can be mobilised same-day, with reports issued within 5 working days.
