Grit blasting — profile & cleanliness.
Abrasive grit blasting of steel, structures and equipment to SSPC-SP and ISO 8501 cleanliness grades and the specified surface profile for coating adhesion.
The right profile for coating that lasts.
Coating life starts with surface preparation. GCS grit-blasts to the specified cleanliness (e.g. Sa 2.5) and anchor profile, controls dust and abrasive, and verifies the result with profile and dust-tape checks before coating.

Questions our clients ask most often.
What cleanliness grade do I need?
It depends on the coating system and service. Immersion and high-performance coatings typically need Sa 2.5 (near-white) to ISO 8501-1; we prepare to whatever the coating data sheet and project spec require and verify it.
How do you verify surface profile?
We measure anchor profile with a profile gauge or replica tape and check cleanliness against ISO 8501 photographic standards, plus dust-tape (ISO 8502-3) and chloride tests where specified.
What certification do you issue?
A formal report with photographs and findings plus a Certificate of Conformity citing the specific clause references. Hard-copy and electronic certificates are available, and records are retained for audit.
How quickly can GCS mobilise grit blasting in Oman?
For routine work in Muscat, Sohar or Duqm, mobilisation is typically within 2 working days. Emergency and field jobs can be mobilised same-day, with reports issued within 5 working days.
